The Library of SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (3) has been used for many event in the years gone by. Usually, at the end of the year where examinations are over, seminars are held for teachers, for reasons ranging from administrative reasons to public examinations. A seminar was held from the 28th to the 30th of October 2013 for the inculcation of high-order thinking skills (KeBAT, or the English acronym HOTS) for history and science. Numerous teachers came from various schools to attend this seminar.
This seminar starts at 8.00 a.m. sharp. The librarians were busy getting ready for the teachers. Cleaning the Library, they got the files and registration book ready before the teachers came in. Every single one of us was given a job to do. Some teachers came at 7.45 a.m. and waited outside as we were not ready.
At 8.00 a.m. sharp, some Librarians ushered the teachers into the Library, For some of the teachers, it was their first time visiting our school Library. Claire was our leader for these pleasant days. Yong Ying and I were in charged of the registration counter. We were really busy at times where a bunch of teachers came in at the same time, but we worked together to keep it going. Everyone cooperated very well, as our motto goes: Towards Success We Work Together.
During the seminar, we had to take turns to be at the registration counter, to answer any enquiries. While two Librarians were at the registration counter, those who were not on duty took a short break in the Reference Room, while some went back to class. It was a great pleasure to help out since our examinations were over.
In the Reference Room, we talked about our own problems or shared our opinions on how we can make the Library a better place. This made the relationship between the Librarians even closer than before. All of us shared anecdotes, on how great it felt to have such good friends as the Librarians. These days pass by really fast as we were enjoying every moment together.
This was a remarkably good experience: being in charge of something important and helping the Library. We have much more up-coming events in the future and I look forward to being greatly involved in them with my fellow Librarians
