25th of July 2013: on this day, there was one very special Librarian meeting. At first, we arranged the whole lot of books on the racks, back to its original places, as the Library is a place full of knowledge. Books also make everyone smarter. Besides that, other Librarians who are free also helped to arrange the tables and chairs neatly. Everyone cooperated and got things tidy at once.
About quarter past three in the afternoon, Quek Zuoo Yuon, our responsible Head Librarian, told all of us to stop what we’re doing and sit down. He said that we were going to play a communication game to get us better at communicating with other people.
Before we started playing, he gave us clear instructions of how to play the game. In the game, a person had to memorise a long sentence, and it had to be passed on from one person to another, until it reaches the last person and see what is the sentence is.
It took some time for everyone to memorise such a lengthy sentence. As people waited, everyone tried to figure out what the sentence was before it was their turn. Well, when the sentence came out from the last person, it came out seriously wrong. It showed that we were not very good at communication.
I hope we can play these games more often, and improve our communication skills.
